Why Do We Hurt The Ones We Love?

“The truth is, everyone is going to hurt you. You just got to find the ones worth suffering for.”

The people we know and love the most are the same people we're most awful to in word and deed. The closer you get to someone's internal organs and soul, the easier it is to slip up and cut sh*t open inside the people who let you in. They let you in without telling you what would hurt them the most.

In relationships, we hear about couples that feel emotionally wounded by each other on a regular basis, through what one says or does. They both love each other very much, and want to stay together, yet they keep hurting each other taking each other for granted, betraying emotional trust, or bringing up the most vulnerable topics from their partner’s past.

Possible reasons to why we hurt the ones we love:

(1)

We may lack the knowledge and skills of how to communicate our feelings constructively with our partners- many people may realize how they hurt their partners, and feel like they want to change that behaviour, but simply not know how to change or how to communicate what they are feeling.

(2)

We feel misunderstood. We wish they could make a journey inside our head and see things the way we see them, just because we think it is the right way. We simply can’t understand why they think differently and how they can miss something that seems so simple and obvious to us.

We misunderstand them because we’re not always willing to try to understand them.

Why do we hurt the ones we love?

It’s just a thing of life I believe, we all have to deal with. We all sin and upset God… we pray and ask for forgiveness and hope to change our ways, in return he accepts with open arms. We sin again… and the cycle repeats itself.

Summing up all of that, its hard not to hurt the ones we love, we don’t necessarily do it on purpose. We are two different separate people; things we do and say are bound to upset your other half… even if it’s a joke! We just have to study and know what things may hurt them for future reference, its trial and error we aren’t no psychic!

This is another coat I’ve been longing to get, after I saw the classic Topshop one (£55) I even copped it cheaper £45.50.

Trendy Tureday

After waiting several years, I have finally been able to purchase my beloved Barbour International Quilted Jacket. I got it in an ash purple colour... (the black ones ran out... whips tears from eyes)

However I am truly over the moon about this unexpected and lucky purchase.

Good Luck!

My beautiful Old training partner Ama.P has shot off to America to meet & chase her dreams at The University of Oklahoma Department of Athletics Compliance.

So proud of this beauty!

After being her training partner for 4-5 years at our beloved track New River in Haringey, Wood

Green. We have watched each other grow up and mature. The unlimited jokes on the track & gym, but also watching each other suffer as we do our last set/ rep during training. She sadly left us to up her game and went down to Lee Valley Track.

From there she has done a bunch of wonderful things wayy too many to list.
